A healthy day out

We had a really nice healthy day out today in Chester, we walked for miles, even though I did struggle at times with my breathing, I enjoyed it and I am sure it must have done me good.
On the way around we found the Elderflower which is really lovely at the moment.
The medicinal parts of the plant include the roots, bark, young shoots, leaves, flowers and the preserved or cooked, ripe black berries. Keep in mind that red elderberry seeds are toxic. This is a similar but different plant so make sure you know the difference.
The flowers shown here are effective at reducing phlegm and encouraging sweating. They are also good for hay fever and strengthening the upper respiratory tract. Use an elderberry flower
poultice
to reduce inflammation.
