I have been eating licorice from my local health food shop, the trouble is that you can only have so much because then it makes you feel sick. I could try the capsule type instead
Licorice has long been touted as a natural remedy for a wide range of ailments. Historian Pliny the Elder wrote of the widespread use of licorice for its healing properties in treating the common cold,
asthma
and
wounds
. Licorice root was found in the tombs of the pharaohs in Egypt, implying the importance of the herb for the Egyptians. Evidence of its use has been documented in ancient Greece, throughout the Roman Empire and in Chinese herbal remedies. Licorice extract in its natural form contains mineralocorticoid and glucocorticoid properties, as well as antimicrobial properties
So licorice will suet me fine as not only is it good for my chest, it may help my gastric problems as well.It could well be my natural cure.

The following information may help to prevent upper respitory infections.
Bromelain extracted from pineapples is extreamely effective in bronchail conditions, as it improves lung function and helps loosen the mucus, while symptoms are acute, take 500mg three times daily, plus 4-5 grams per day of vitamin C.
(Nac) N-acetyl cysteine helps to break up the mucus and reduce the bacterial count for people suffering with bronchitis. Take 500mg twice a day 30 minutes before food. Studies have shown that people taking NAC on a regular basis suffer fewer incidences of bronchitis, colds and flu. NAC helps to support the liver.
Useful herbs for boosting the immune system and reducing bacteria are echinacea, ashwagandha, goldenseal, and elderberry.
Liquorice is an anti-flammatory, anti-viral and can be very useful with bronchial conditions. Buy whole liquorice from health stores
Expectorant hebs that can clear your chest are garlic, horehound and euphorbia. They can be taken as a captual or tincture.
Increasing vitamin B1 (thiamine), found in peas, wholegrain rice, sunflower seeds, and pine nuts is essential for healthy lungs.

Your body needs protein first thing in the morning that is why eggs (not fried ), grilled fish or lean meat make an excellent breakfast.
Eat a great variety of foods as possible, preferaby home grown. Buy organic or free range eggs, these contain a higher amount of nutrients than foods flown thousands of miles
Very few people make the effort to drink enough fresh clean water, which is vital to good health, every day we lose around 3 litres of water, so we need to drink about six glases of water each day to get the fluid count back.. This is a quick and easy way to stay healthy.
Try and get as much outdoor exercise as you can , and learn to breath deaply, this aids relaxation. Deep breathing also helps to alkalise the body.

An apple a day they say, but peel may help the fight against obesity.
Those who peel an apple before eating it may be discarding a helpful tool for fighting obesity. A study involving mice finds that a compound in apple peel called ursolic acid may curtail obesity by increasing muscle mass and boosting calorie burning. In addition to the weight control benefit, it may also deter fatty liver disease and pre-diabetes.

The acid-alkaline balance

After reading about how important the Acid-alkaline balance is in your body I came up with a remedy to get balance correct, reducing the risk of any damage to my cells by having too much acid.
Practically every major degenerative disease, including cancer, is triggered by an over acid system. When the ph of your body is out of balance your skin and hair become dull, the nervous system is affected , and you may suffer insomnia, arthritis, aching joints, skin conditions such as candida, fungal infections, muscle pain and gout which are all common symptoms of an over acid system.
Nutritionists and health professionals have long understood the importance to health of the acid-alkaline balance, and keeping the balance is one of the crucial keys of remaining healthy, and also slowing down the ageing process.
Friendly foods are honey, lemon and organic apple cider vinegar. There are others but I picked these three for my remedy. I will add a teaspoon of Manuka honey to hot water to melt the honey. I will then add a slice of lemon, and a tablespoon of organic cider vinegar, and that I will take twice a day between meals.

Here are some health tips I found about anti-ageing that you may found useful.
The life extension foundation offers numerous creams and serums that are based on vitamin C, white tea, pomegranate and so on, which have demonstrated anti-ageing properties See www.lef.org for more information.
Eat more antioxidant rich foods, organic fruit and vegetables, especially red orange or dark green fruits and vegetables, such as pomegranates, papaya, blueberries, carrots, apricots, watercress, pumpkin, broccoli, spring greens, pak choy, red peppers, red and purple berries and tomatoes.
Learn to meditate, for it has many anti-ageing benefits. Regular meditation helps you cope better with stress, by reducing release of highly toxic stress hormones adrenalin and cortisol. It also slows the ageing process.
Potassium chloride is also important in out diet, for removing congestion and fatty deposits in the tissues. You need 50 mg three times per day
Take care of your eyes.
To prevent age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, or vision impairment, eat plenty of yellow and green vegetables every day (spinach, turnip greens, collards, squash, peas, broccoli, pumpkin, and corn). This is key to a long, healthy life because those veggies contain lutein and zeaxanthin. Eggs are a good source of those components, too. For more info, read
“Hobbies are great distractions from the worries and troubles that plague daily living,” writes Malone in
70 Ways to Beat 70
. “Besides the reduction of stress and worry, hobbies can aid in the battle of depression…Individuals who are involved with their hobby are happier people.” If you have a hobby, you might like to read

Antiperspirants often contain chemicals that are absorbed into the body, they stop you from sweating, but this in natures way of getting rid of all the toxins. The majority of breast cancers occur in the part of the breast nearest to the armpit. Use a natural tea-tree based antiperspirant or ones that are free from aluminium.
Ask your specialist about cryotherapy, a minimally invasive 'freezing' therapy that involves destroying cancer cells by using a cold gas. Results today have been positive
Take a high-strength antioxidant formula that contains vitamin C and E, plus zinc and selenium's
